Patrolman Price was shot and killed after he and his partner were abducted at
gunpoint. The two officers had stopped two suspicious men at 34th and Pflanz
Street for questioning. During the questioning, they realized that one of the
suspects had a warrant. When they made the man sit in the patrol car, the
suspect's brother also jumped into the car. While in the car, the suspect
slipped the brother a gun. The man stuck the gun in the officer's neck and
ordered him to drop the radio.
The two men ordered the officers to hand over their guns before making them
drive several blocks. When the vehicle approached Gilligan Street, the suspect
shot and killed Officer Price.
