| The Auxiliary is a state and nationally Fraternal Order of Police chartered organization that is committed to supporting our officers, their families and the community whenever needed. We assist by aiding in supporting beneficial legislation, providing programs that inform and educate, and support for each other. We are here to lend a helping hand when one of our family members need us. Our motto says it all, we will “Never Let Them Walk Alone”. No one knows better the tribulations of a police officer than their families and close friends. Our loved ones have chosen a proud career and has dedicated themselves to public service. This can be very difficult on them and on the families. |
Some of our members have been in the police family for many, many years. With this in mind, we make it a priority to assist the officers and their families. We provide events for police families, such as, Annual Halloween Bash and Breakfast with Santa. We created the Louisville Metro Officers and Families Relief Fund to assist in time of financial need, due to a line of duty incident or death, injury or personal tragedy. This was the first of its kind for an Auxiliary in the U.S, and was a factor in our National Auxiliary of the Year Award in 2001. We also support police and F.O.P. activities and functions. We network with other state and local Auxiliaries for ideas on new programs and different forms of assistance to help one another. |
