Louisville Metro Officer to Honor His Mother in the
Leukemia, Lymphoma Society Team In Training Walk
posted 5-26-08
As some of you know my mother ( Suzanne Williams ) was fighting cancer while I was in the Academy in 2005. She was first diagnosed with acute leukemia in 2003. During her battle with cancer she was told twice that she only had two weeks to live, but she beat it two times in a row. Unfortunately in October 2005 she lost her fight with Leukemia. It is the people like her and many others that can give us the inspiration to always push through the hard times.
My wife and I are in training to participate in an endurance event as a member of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s ( LLS ) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. The money raised will support research, public and professional education, patient aid, community service and advocacy. However for us to participate in the marathon we each have to raise $ 3,900.00. For those of you that wish to donate on-line, there are two web sites. I would ask that you donate first to my wife’s ( Karla ) site at : http://pages.teamintraining.org/ky/nikesf08/kwilliaty1 and then once her goal has been met you can go to my web site at : http://pages.teamintraining.org/ky/nikesf08/awilliaxsv.
For those of you that would rather donate by check please make the check payable to : Leukemia, Lymphoma Society and place in an envelope at one of the eight divisions. Within the next couple of days I will place a envelope at each division either at the role call table or the front desk. All donations are 100% tax deductable. I would ask that those of you that are going to donate please make your donation within the next two weeks due to deadlines. However donations after this will be accepted and greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your donations.
In Memory of My Mom
Thanks, Again
