Coverage by Fox41:

The son of a Louisville Metro Police detective is improving from a blood disorder and the efforts to help him, are benefiting others as well.

The Red Cross and the Fraternal Order of Police teamed up for a blood drive to help two year old Sebastian Adams.

He has a hereditary blood disorder that weakens his immune system.

Sebastian's father, a narcotics detective has helped organize and run quarterly blood drives since Sebastian's birth.

Donors contributed 26 pints of blood, bringing the Adams' two year effort total to 282 pints.                                  December 21, 2009

FOP MEMBERS REJECT MAYOR'S PLAN

Today an overwhelming number of Louisville Metro Police officers came to a meeting at the FOP to express their concern over public safety.

With the Mayor going after the Louisville Fire Department and the Louisville Metro Police Department it shows a total lack of regard for the safety of our citizen's here in Louisville Metro.

The memers of the FOP voted unanimously to reject any ultimatum proposed by the Mayor, as it relates to the mayor unilaterally imposing changes to wages, benefits and working conditions of the officers.

If the Mayor decides to make changes that will decrease police presence in our community by changing the current Metro Police fleet program, he should be aware that the safety of our citizens will be directly affected.  This decision rests solely with the Mayor.
